  • Search for scholarships

MEET OUR GRADUATES

Laxmi will attend Sheer Ego school to learn about cosmetology, hair, and nails. She is a refugee from Nepal, and has been in the U.S. for 21 months. She has many home responsibilities: cooking traditional Nepalese food, cleaning, and laundry. During this school year, she has worked at a nursing home and at a spa. Laxmi is grateful to her parents for their sacrifices and love in bringing her and her siblings to America. In her words, "We can live our dreams here."

Shaniqua plans to attend MCC next fall. After two years there, she intends to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a BA or BS in Psychology or Social Work.

Niasia will attend St. John Fisher College to study nursing. She loves taking care of children and often helps her mom in their home day care center. She loves art and is a member of the WHG Book Club. She is currently learning to drive and hopes to pass her driver's test soon.

Erica is actively researching and applying to NYS community colleges, including Broome Community College, Finger Lakes Community College and Niagara County Community College.

Maryam will attend MCC for nursing in the fall.

Kendra will attend Eastern Michigan State University in the fall, where she hopes to study nursing. She will continue to be active in sports and looks forward to the challenges college in a new state will bring.
