The Quilting Project 2

Please join us on Sunday February 24, 2008 from 1-4 p.m. for The Quilting Project 2 – a quilt show, dessert reception and silent auction to benefit Women Helping Girls, a program of the Greater Rochester Area Branch of the American Association of University Women that supports girls in the Rochester City School District. Join us at the Shults Community Center on the Nazareth College campus for this special event. The MC for the auction will be Kitty Van Bortel, community leader and successful businesswoman.

This event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the artistry of quilting.  It will feature a variety of quilts donated by both local quilters and those from surrounding areas. On February 24, enjoy coffee, tea, and luscious desserts as you stroll among the quilts, viewing the cavalcade of colors and silently bidding on your favorite piece.

Proceeds from this event will benefit WHG, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that offers female students, grades 7 through 12, a series of activities and enriching experiences designed to broaden horizons, develop life skills, and reinforce the importance of education.  WHG emphasizes mentoring, a sense of community, and positive interaction with peers and family. The event will also feature participants from WHG.

This event promises to be a fun, uplifting afternoon.   Take the chill out of February and warm your heart at this unique event.  Come see the works of fabulous quilters who have donated their work to help young women in our community.
